About
Elm & Reed Financial Advice grew from years of sitting with Welsh households and owners who needed clarity before a mortgage, a career change, or retirement—not another set of product brochures.
We give people a written view of their money they can defend to a partner, a lender, or their future selves. That means listening first, reading statements carefully, and resisting advice that outruns the facts on the table.
The practice opened on Russell Street in New Stanton after its founders spent earlier careers in retail banking and independent advice firms elsewhere in South Wales. Clients kept asking for meetings that produced a plan rather than a sale. Elm & Reed was formed to answer that request with fixed-fee consulting.
We work in short engagements with clear deliverables. Documents stay with you; we do not hold discretionary investment mandates. When a product decision is needed after our written findings, we can introduce regulated specialists—but the review itself stays advisory and fee-based.

Works with sole traders and small limited companies on drawings, reserves, and how personal protection sits beside company risk.
Prepares document packs before meetings and keeps follow-up notes tidy so clarification calls stay short and useful.
